The Internet grows in use and popularity. Companies begin to use the web
as a
tool for reaching multiple audiences with their products, services, and messages,
touching millions of users around the world and around the clock.
1997(ish)
Similar to the tinkering of the early primates with their tools, a group of hyper-curious
individuals engorged themselves in the innerworkings of the web. They learned
the hard way with rudimentary tools. Their tools
evolved – and
so did their skills.
They became more nimble. They became experts. They evolved into an elite
group of web professionals known collectively as Monkee-Boy.
