About the Austin Chamber Project
Monkee-Boy was no stranger to the Austin Chamber of Commerce after managing their award-winning 2010 redesign and being their go-to digital partner ever since. Now it was time to rethink the Chamber's site for mobile and enhance the overall technology behind it to support the wide variety of data and content.
Robust Digital Strategy
With massive amounts of stakeholders supporting massive amounts of content, the Chamber project required a serious amount of research and strategy to capture and plan everything needed for success. Through stakeholder interviews, a massive content audit, a robust content strategy, and extremely detailed digital wireframes, the strategy for success was set.
As if the custom CMS wasn't enough heavy lifting for one site, Monkee-Boy assisted in the tight integration with the WebLink (the Chamber's external member management tool, MailChimp, Google Maps, and Google DoubleClick.
The right tools in the hands of the right people can have powerful results. To accomplish the Chamber's short and long term goals, and protect the integrity of the experience across devices through heavy site maintenance, the site required Monkee-Boy's fully custom CMS. Through it, there were no limitations and it an arsenal of easy-to-use tools were created to power the dynamic content.
Flexible Page Builder
The Chamber houses a ton of content and content types ranging from standard text to incredibly advanced layouts of tables, maps, resources, and videos. To support the wide variety of content housed on otherwise straightforward detail pages, Monkee-Boy created a one-of-a-kind page builder allowing Chamber staff to nimbly create pages, add all types of content types and dynamically reorder them within any page – freeing the Chamber staff to build the pages any way they wanted, with any type of content, without any need for coding. Doesn't that kind of flexibility sound refreshing?
Integrated Content Promotion
To assist with the promotion of timeline, contextual content, Monkee-Boy developed a custom way for the Chamber to promote their most pressing news and resources in the global navigation's drop down menus. Through it, internal stakeholders had increase flexibility to meet their audiences unique needs.
To assist with real-time notifications and updates of the pulse of Austin, Monkee-Boy developed a cutting edge alerts tool for the site, allowing the Chamber staff to create, manage, and schedule alerts to be posted to the site and keep users aware.
